I´m proud of my Southern heritage. Anxious to get ahead, my mom and dad left their native Mississippi behind for Birmingham, Alabama where I was raised, the fourth of five children. My dad was a general contractor who spent much of his time repairing FHA repossessed houses for resale. My strong bond with my father comes from many years working along side of him on weekends and during summer breaks from school. My mother was a weaver in the cotton mill. I share my home with my partner of 24 years. Jim is from Hopewell, Virginia, and is a graduate of Virginia Tech and Samford University. We left Birmingham for Washington, DC to further both our careers in Information Technology. My corporate relocation brought us back to the Deep South where we could be closer to our families. Previously employed in the telecommunications industry, Jim functions as Darrell's right hand person, handling the behind-the-scenes activities for our clients. With my two brothers and two sisters, and Jim´s three sisters, all of whom have two to three children each, we are blessed with a large family. In our spare time, we enjoy cooking, playing the piano, traveling, going for long walks on the beach, spending time with our many nieces and nephews, reading, going to the symphony, and other concerts, and gardening. We live in Avondale Estates.
